‘We’ve Twinned’ and Bucks Art Weeks

Very many e mails, catalogues and flyers later we’re still sharing the excitement of our forthcoming Bucks Art Weeks here at Field View Studio. But admittedly it’s proving a bit of a rush getting ready, having recently indulged in a fortnight in France – for le Twinning! More about that in a moment…

So we’re looking forward to sharing the work of 12 Artists and Makers – we’re almost ‘ready ‘set-up’ and the weather forecast for the next couple of weekends is looking good. WHERE did we hear you say? So if you’re local:

And we’ve TWINNED! Many more tales to tell…

Although we’ve only had two weeks to finally prepare for Bucks Art Weeks we don’t regret those two delicious weeks in France, en route le Twinning! Our home village of Wingrave has been ‘Twinning’ with la Bouexiere in Brittany for over forty years. It’s such a privilege to spend a weekend hosted by a French family – thank you Jean Michel and Valerie. So a week cycling through the Loire valley ticking off our list of chateaux, followed by another on the (almost) wild West Coast – and with it, more Atlantic waves to inspire new paintings.

I’ve seen many photos of artists and their work set against inspirational beach backdrops, so I thought I’d give it a go – but I wasn’t counting on the wind! I haven’t figured out how to upload video here yet so you’re spared the comedy of repeated attempts to keep the canvas upright long enough to catch a glimpse of the incoming wave behind. And I know it’s not exactly the done thing to remove sand from a beach but these little Atlantic paintings insisted on taking some home as a souvenir.
