Hair-pin Bends and a Buzzing ‘Pop-up’

Weathering the Weather in Gran Canaria

We took off – for a spontaneous January/February fortnight’s getaway to Gran Canaria – less about lounging on sunbeds and more about exploring a beautiful island, so different from the UK and with proper, winter SUN!  (And certainly no shortage of arty inspiration…)1509 photos later….😊 Don’t panic, they’re not all showing here; no paintings as yet but definitely more sketch book images.

We planned the trip in three-locations, beginning in the north west, home to big Atlantic rollers and rugged shores. The second stop took us high into the volcanic mountains, staying in a traditional ‘finca’. Three nights there made the holiday feel very authentic, with multiple hair-pin bends an unavoidable part of the experience – one of the remote villages we visited was called Teror!

All in all, we are incredibly grateful for a warm, scenic and memorable trip, with safe travelling and the chance to explore before the current, very worrying upheavals of war in the East.

A great outcome…

It was a real pleasure to see so many at the MS Society Art Exhibition and sale. Thanks to everyone who came along, enjoyed the artwork and helped make the occasion a success. Together we raised a massive £23,295 in support of Multiple Sclerosis.
