The  brightest lights aren’t  always in the sky… sometimes the glow stays low!

This painting began with my favourite plaster medium (which adheres well to canvas) – it’s a ‘chalk rich’  ground, resonating with the chalk geology of the Chiltern Ridge beneath.  Though now clearly agricultural land, the ridges and scrapes embedded in the plaster’s surface lend  authenticity —  bringing to life traces of centuries of human activity here. .

The three iconic scrub trees stand as sentinels of time,  lending life and rhythm to the scene whatever the season.

A contemplative yet stimulating painting, alive with vibrant colours.
