The brightest lights aren’t always in the sky… sometimes the glow stays low!
This painting began with my favourite plaster medium (which adheres well to canvas) – it’s a ‘chalk rich’ ground, resonating with the chalk geology of the Chiltern Ridge beneath. Though now clearly agricultural land, the ridges and scrapes embedded in the plaster’s surface lend authenticity — bringing to life traces of centuries of human activity here.
The three iconic scrub trees stand as sentinels of time, lending life and rhythm to the scene whatever the season, symphonic musicians!
A contemplative yet stimulating painting, alive with vibrant colours.
